Bridgeport Cemetery

Located on the Dave Ennis homestead, the Bridgeport Cemetery is one quarter
of a mile north of the town of Bridgeport and is bordered by a county road.
The cemetery was first used when bodies had to be moved from the cemetery of
the former mining town of Clarksville as the ground there was being mined
out. Land for the Bridgeport Cemetery was later donated by the Wendt
Brothers. Cemetery established in 1860 (?)
The cemetery is located on high dry land. Graves are cared for only by
relatives and friends. There are no known burial records kept despite the
nearby community of Bridgeport. Abandoned cemetery. Location of cemetery
