Copperfield-Homestead Cemetery
There is a cemetery located near Homestead on State Highway 86 about half way between Copperfield and Homestead on the Snake River. It is near the road in plain sight. Copperfield was wiped out by 2 fires and never recovered. The present site, Oxbow is where Copperfield was.
This cemetery was established shortly after the Iron Dyke mine was started around 1900. The grounds are neglected, no custodian for this cemetery. Graves are sunken, there were wooden headboards only in this one plot. There are about 40 graves here. The cemetery was named Copperfield or Homestead at times. It is same cemetery.
