Freddie Richard 'Rick' Hanes

Freddie Richard “Rick” Hanes, 55, a resident of Prineville, passed away on Aug. 16, in Prineville.

Mr. Hanes was born Feb. 4, 1959, to Chester and Fern (Grantham) Hanes in Prineville. Rick grew up and spent his childhood in Prineville, graduating from Crook County High School in 1977. He met and married Rebecca D. (Hayes) Hanes in 1983 and they had two children while living in Prineville.

He worked for Hudspeth Pine Logging from 1977 until 1980. He then went to work for B&S Logging from 1981 until 2011. He recently went back to work for Kriege Logging. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, movies, but most of all spending time with his family and his grandsons, Hunter and Finn.

Rick is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hanes; daughter, Angie (Hanes) Friesen and son-in-law Michael Friesen; son, Wade Hanes both of Prineville; two grandchildren, Hunter and Finn Friesen; brother, LeRoy Hanes, Dean Hanes both of Prineville, and Larry Hanes of Falcon, Colo.; sister, Ruby Williams of Prineville; eight nieces, five nephews, and numerous grandnieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters, and two nephews.

There will be a Community Gathering Service at Prineville Funeral Home “Heritage Chapel” Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m.
