Jay Bohannon

   Jay Patrick "Pat" Bohannon, 74, of Mitchell, Oregon passed away October 12, 
2008. A memorial service will be held at the Mitchell Community Center on 
Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

   "Pat" was born on May 21, 1934 to Garland E. Bohannon and Gussie Marie Fox 
in Moyer, Oklahoma. He attended Mitchell High School then attended Monmouth 
College. He joined the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956. He was in the company that 
launched the first guided surface to air missiles in White Sands, New Mexico.

   He then started logging for Hudspeth Pine in Oregon, Utah and Colorado for 
8 years. After logging he then started a business with a couple of friends 
building house packages. In the spring of 1973 he moved back to Mitchell, 
where he was a rancher and worked for Fran Cherry. He later moved to Twickenham
and ranched there and worked for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife 
during the summer months.

    "Pat" married Myrna Kathleen (Powell) Francis on June 27, 1957 in Long Creek,Ore.  His hobbies were working cattle, chasing wild horses, braiding rawhide, 
reading, fishing, writing, beading and looking forward to calls from his friends and family.

   "Pat" is survived by his wife Myrna Bohannon of Mitchell, Ore; Son Shawn 
Patrick Bohannon of Vancouver, WA; Sister Linda Keys of Mitchell, Ore; Nephews 
Pat Keys of Mitchell, Ore; Ronnie Keys of Prineville, Ore; two grand nephews; 
one grand niece and numerous in-laws.

   He was preceded in death by his parents Garland E. and Gussie M. (Fox)
