Allen Eric Carlson 

Feb. 18, 1939 - Jan. 3, 2001 

Allen Eric Carlson of Gilchrist died Wednesday of leukemia. He was 61. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Heritage Chapel at 
Prineville Funeral Home. 

Mr. Carlson was born Feb. 18, 1939, in St. Cloud, Minn. He moved to 
Prineville from Backus, Minn., in 1948. He graduated from Crook County High 
School in 1957. 

He worked at various sawmills in Central Oregon and was a head sawyer for 
Crown Pacific for 11 years. He retired in 1998. 

He married Bobbie J. Bennett on June 18, 1986, in Chemult. 

They moved to Gilchrist in 1991. 

Mr. Carlson enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling throughout the West Coast 
and Alaska. He also enjoyed history, music, animals and spending time with 
family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie of Gilchrist; two sons, Danny and Steven, 
both of Redmond; three stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Cullum-Oshea of Grants Pass, 
Leslie LaKings of Newport and Bobbie LaKings of Crescent Lake Junction; two 
sisters, Evelyn Ellestad of Moses Lake, Wash., and Vivian Jamison of Oregon 
City; two brothers, Roy of Prineville and Gene of Shady Hills, Fla.; five 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
