           James "Jim" Henry McClain
James "Jim" Henry McClain of Madras died Sun. Sept. 10. He was 65 years old. 
He was born June 3, 1935, to Ernest L and Victoria Beulah (Gregg) McClain in 
Rising Star, Texas. He moved to Kinzua Oregon, in 1952. He married Mary M. 
Williams in 1953 in Goldendale, Wash.
   Mr. McClain worked for the highway dept. while living in various locations 
throughout central Oregon settling in Madras in 1989. He retired in 1895.
   He enjoyed hunting and bowling. He was a member of the bowling league in 
both Madras and Prineville. Mr. McClain was also a member of the Heppner 
Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Shriners and the Madras Conservative 
Baptist Church.
  He was preceded in death by two children, two grandchildren, three siblings 
and his parents. 
  Survivors include his wife Mary of Madras: sons, Dick McClain of Portland 
and Dave McClain of Redmond: sisters Mildred Winters and Vallie Winn both of 
Russelville, Ark., and Lois Petigo of Essex, MO: brothers Virgil McClain of 
Hermiston and Doyle McClain of Midland, Tex. and four grandchildren
  Memorial services will be held Wed., Sept 13 at Madras Conservative Baptist 
Church at 1 P.M. his urn will e placed in the Fossill 100F Cemetery in a 
private ceremony.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 
3010 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. in Portland 97201 or the Eastern Star in care of 
Mary McClain, 2153 NE Clark Drive in Madras 97741.
