William Earl Mead

   William Earl Mead passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at his home in Prineville, Ore.

   He was 79 years old. Private services will be held at Juniper Haven Cemetery, Prineville, 
Ore.

   William was born on May 27, 1926 to Earl and Deborah (Parker) Mead in New York City, New 
York. He married Mary Davidson on August 21, 1947 in Gouverneur, New York.

   Mr. Mead was a lifelong environmentalist, conservationist and a devoted husband, father 
and grandfather. He was an extensive world traveler as a geologist/mineralogist and hydrologist.
He was a lover of birds, music and maps.   He had lived in Prineville for 16 years.

   Survivors include: his wife, Mary of Prineville, Ore.; daughters, Karen Blakeslee of Redmond,
Ore., Laurel Mead of Portland, Ore., and Norma Mead of Prineville, Ore.; sons, Thomas Mead of 
San Francisco, Calif., and Garth and Cindy Mead of Sandy, Ore., six grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

   Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
