William H. Powell

William H. Powell, a cowboy for many years, died Saturday, Oct. 4, while on a hunting
 trip.  He was 76.

A resident of Prineville since 1952, Mr. Powell was a native of showney, Mo., the son
 of Clem and Emily Powell.

He worked on the Golden Pines Ranch for 25 years before coming to Crook County.

Surviving him are five sons, Billy Glen of Riddle, Robert of Laramie, Wyo., Edward of
Woodland, Wash., Elwin of Admire, Kan., and Kenneth of Prineville;  three daughters, 
Leona Davidson of Akron, Colo., Ruth Bowen of Woodland, and Pat Mack of Steamboat 
Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Earl of Walden, Colo., and Clarance of Redding, Calif.

His wife, Blanche, died in April.

Services were Thursday, Oct 9, in Juniper Haven Cemetery with Pastor Harvey Bynum 
presiding.
