listmark Ancestral Findings - Request a look up from CDs and other resources owned by this site. They have marriage records, death and birth records and census records among other holdings. Another excellent source of information!!

listmark Genealogy's Most Wanted - A great place to search for those hard to find ancestors! Updated daily.

listmark GENDEX - Search for surnames in this extensive internet database

listmark GenForum - A query system with many surname boards to search. If you can't find one for your surname, you can request to have one created. A great way to communicate with others researching the same surnames.

Military

War Chart - This a chart listing all the wars involving the United States throughout the centuries. It would be beneficial to print this out and use it as a reference guide when looking for military records.

listmark Sierra - Currently has an online searchable database for soldiers that participated in the War of 1812.

listmark Revolutionary War Pension Record Index - A wonderful database to search for veterans of the Revolutionary War.

Union Regiments - Because this site is currently undergoing updates, you are unable to access the home page which is the jumping off point to all the states listed. However, I was able to determine which states are represented and they are listed below with links. These pages give you a history of the regiments' movements and battles and some will even have roster information. It is worth checking out!

Cemeteries, Wills, Deeds and Probate

Interment in the United States - An excellent place to look for cemetery listings and burials. It is far from complete but it is still the best source for interment records.

listmark Wills and Administrations - A searchable database of wills and other documents.

Land Records

Bureau of Land Management (Eastern States) - Searchable database to find land patents "originally" issued by the US Government. If these patents were later sold you will need to look up the land records in the county in which the land is located. Covers most of the eastern states.

listmark GNIS - Search for place names; categorized by populated places, cemeteries, rivers, hills, etc. Find where they are located.

Societies

NSDAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) - Once you have established that one of your ancestors participated in the American Revolution (on the side of the US, of course), you can request membership at this web site. Be prepared to show documentation of your lineage.
