Elijah and Sarah emigrated from Jackson County to Lake County then to Harney County in the early 1880s. They settled around Drewsey on the Cleveland Ranch. Sarah died from a rattlesnake bite in 1886. Elijah’s children stayed on in Harney County. One son, Charles, rode for Peter French in 1885. |

I am searching for Krziske descendants and ancestors. I have obits for William and Charlie Krziske. William came to Harney County in 1883. His wifes name was Anna. They had 4 children. Lena and a twin for Lena (name unknown),Charles, and Anna. Lena married James Varien. Anna married J.R.Vose. William died Oct 24 ,1919. His wife Anna died 1889.and the unknown twin died soon after. Charles died Aug 4,1957 at the Herb Peterson ranch. Any info will be greatly appreciated. |

My Harney County Surname is Jennings. John
Henry Jennings and his wife Julia Dodge Jennings
homesteaded on Soldier Creek in the late
1800's. My father Roy Booth Jennings was
born in Burns. He went to school in Harney,
I still have a picture of the Harney School.
He went to school with a Houser, can't think
of his first name, but he later became post
master of Burns I believe. Rose and Tome
Houser was his parents. My dad used to stay
with them at the Houser Cabin. It is still
out by Harney. My dads sisters were Rita Jennings Hibbard, and his other sister was Ruth Jennings Cowing. There are still relatives in Burns, my cousin Dorothy Cowing Starbuck still lives just out side of Burns. My dad and mom moved to Ca. in 1931. |
