Charlie Haight and I were spending a few days in the Eagle Cap Wilderness Mountains and were taking a break here at Glacier Lake when these hunters rode up on us. Turned out to be a group led by Ron Berquist from Baker (the gent who started the restaurant chain Shari's for an elderly woman who backed him). Anyway Ron had clients with him and they stopped and chatted for awhile and as they were about to leave Ron (pointing in the photo) went into the packed equipment took out a full venison backstrap and gave it to us then they went on their way. |
