      Library has an extensive collection of Coos County and Oregon records of genealogical value, including:
Historical and biographical works
Federal census records 1850 - 1920
Oregon Death records index
Marriage records, microfilm and books
Land records
Probate records
Cemetery records
Obituary records
Some birth/divorce records
Some mortuary records and obstetrical records.

Library is staffed totally by volunteers.  All have received extensive training in Family History research and are able to assist your research in Coos County, Oregon and other areas of the world.  Several of the patron librarians are certified, accredited and/or professional researchers.

     Library has many histories, biographical works, Bibles, ships logs, day books & ledgers, diaries, early tax lists, some early newspapers and special issues, large collection of early photographs [partially catalogued], and the Coos County Ancestral File is housed here.  Essential to call ahead and make an appointment!   If you don't, you may be unable to access any of the records that you desire to look at.  Also, the "research" facilities are not spacious, limited area to sit, no tables and limited area to plug in laptop computers.  Additionally, the staff is in the process of cataloging their entire collection of materials, and at this time they are unable to identify all the items they have available.
